The Process

The SkyFix team is made up of qualified remote maintenance technicians that have been involved in the UAV industry for many years. We’ve flown to China, France and USA for our certifications. SkyFix is a authorised DJI repair centre in South Africa. Our team has also been trained by other drone manufactures to handle models over and beyond DJI. We also an accredited Delta Drone repair centre.

Parts

Parts required for the repair/ maintenance, along with total costs (total hours and shipping fees) will be included in the quote sent after the initial diagnostic assessment. You will need to sign the quote and pay the quoted amount in full before work begins.

Repair And Maintenance Process

1. Book your drone in for repairs using through our repair portal. Click here
2. A consultant will contact you within 48hrs.
3. Customer posts the drone to Action Gear (address at bottom of website). Insuring and tracking the parcel is
recommended.
4. A specialist will proceed with a comprehensive diagnostic assessment and provide a quote on parts, hours of work
and return shipping and insurance fees.
5. Customer pays quotes amount, signs quote and returns it via email.
6. Work begins and repaired drone/UAV is returned to your requested mailing address by courier within 14 – 21 days.

* Priority Customers are customers that purchased their drone or UAV from Action Gear. Other Customers are customers looking to have their drone or UAV serviced but did not initially purchase it from Action Gear.

Expected timelines for fixes and maintenance

Action Gear customers (customers that have purchased their UAV’s from Action Gear) are ‘Priority Customers’ and will receive priority repairs and maintenance schedules, as well as a discounted repair rates.

We aim to have a turn around time between 14 – 21 days, but timelines may vary according to your repair complexity and parts available.

Warranty Terms And Conditions

1. The following conditions must be met for warranty service:

  • During warranty period, product is normally used, as intended by the manufacturer;
  • No unauthorised disassembling, modifications or installations have been performed;
  • Labels, Serial Numbers, waterproof marks, false proof mark, etc. show no signs of tampering or altering;
  • Valid proof-of-purchase, receipt or order number.

2. Following conditions are NOT subject to warranty service:

  • Crashing or burning caused by non-manufacturing factors;
  • Damage caused by unauthorised modifications, disassembling or shell opening;
  • Damage caused by improper installations, or incorrect use of operation despite of the guidance of manuals;
  • Damage caused by unauthorised modification or circuit, mismatch or misuse of battery and charger;
  • Damage caused by any flight which didn’t follow the instructions of the manuals;
  • Damage caused by operation in bad weather (i.E. strong wind, rain, sand/dust storm, etc.);
  • Damage cased by operating the unit in an electromagnetic interference environment (i.e. mining area, radio transmitting tower, high-voltage wire, substation, etc.);
  • Damage cause by operating the unit in a known environment with interference with other with other wireless devices (i.e. transmitters, video-link, Wi-Fi signals, etc.);
  • Damage caused by operating the unit with a weight greater than safe takeoff weight;
  • Damage caused by forced flight when components have been aged or damaged;
  • Damage caused by reliability or compatibility issues when using unauthenticated their-party parts;
  • Damage caused by operating the unit with a low charged or defective battery.

Delivery costs will be covered by the customer. If needed SkyFix can arrange collection with our couriers, the net cost of delivery including VAT will be covered by customer.
